Description
Pahanthudawa waterfall is another unique creation among the waterfalls of Sri Lanka. Depth here is about 05 meters(16.4ft). This lantern is in the shape of a waterfall lamp, it has been named the lantern.
Another important feature of this waterfall is that due to it’s located in a beautiful ecosystem rich with biodiversity, there is the potential to find a special abundance of valuable plants and animals in this ecosystem.
The waterfall at this place is a bit dangerous and the villagers say the depth of the falls is too much and can’t find the bottom. They also say the water levels in the area can rise within 10 to 15 minutes as the water levels in the area above the falls rise as heavy rains prevail.
