This is situated right behind the Council Chambers. This pond is believed to be used by the Great King Parakramabahu.
The Kumara Pokuna is located next to the Council Chambers of King Parakramabaho in Polonnaruwa. During those days, royal bath were must include item in ancient places complex design. Kumara Pokuna was built during the King Parakramabahu time (1153-1186 AD). It is quadrangle shape and there is lotus flower in the middle. According to the archaeologist, this must be the pond named as ” Sila Pokkharani” refferd in Mahawansa.
