Description
Kirigalpotta is the second-highest mountain in Sri Lanka, standing at an elevation of 2,388 meters (7,835 feet) above sea level. It is part of the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka, situated near Horton Plains National Park. The highest mountain in Sri Lanka is Piduruthalagala, as mentioned earlier.
Kirigalpotta is known for its picturesque landscapes, diverse flora, and cool climate. The region is rich in biodiversity, and Horton Plains National Park, where Kirigalpotta is located, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
While Kirigalpotta is not as popular among tourists as some other mountains in Sri Lanka, it is often included as part of trekking and hiking routes within Horton Plains National Park.
