Description
Bambarakanda Waterfall stands as the highest waterfall in Sri Lanka, situated along the Kalupahana-Ohiya road. Accessible via a low ground clearance vehicle from the Kalupahana side, a four-wheel vehicle or a bike is essential when approaching from Ohiya.
A brief 15-minute walk from the main road or ticket counter leads to the waterfall, and the same route provides access to Lanka Waterfall. A further two-kilometer walk from Bambarakanda Waterfall is required to reach the captivating Lanka Waterfall.
The experience combines natural beauty with a touch of adventure, making it a compelling destination for enthusiasts.
The fall is situated 5kms away from the main road and you must travel upwards a narrow and winding road to meet this beauty. Though the fall is visible to the road, to get close, you need to walk along a pine forest patch to reach the base.
