Located at an altitude of 7339 ft on the Kikiliyamana mountain range in the Nuwaraeliya district Shanthipura is the highest situated village in the entire island. Sprawling views of surrounding towns and mountains can be viewed on clear sunny mornings.
It is at Shanthipura Nuwara Eliya. It’s in Kandy Nuwara Eliya road just 7.9 km from Nuwara Eliya towards Kandy side. You have to cut away from the main road and climb a hill. Boards are there to guide the route. Place is open for the public from 9 am to 6 pm. From there you can see the whole Nuwara Eliya town. Make sure you don’t go on a misty day then you won’t be able to see. The site is more spectacular in the night but unfortunately it’s closed at night. It’s a place one should go.
